The Sacrificial Man by @ruth_dugdall published by @legendpress ๐Ÿ’•
Dark, Full on, full steam ahead. Hold on or you will get left behind.
๐Ÿ’•
Alice Mariano has been found guilty of the assisted suicide of her lover David (also known as Smith) who she meet online.
.
Cate Austin is a probation officer whoโ€™s job it is to assess Alice and make recommendations for sentencing to present to the judge.
๐Ÿ’•
From the off Alice makes her views perfectly clear that she WILL NOT GO TO PRISON- as she is an advocate of assisted dying and she believes that she has carried out the wishes that David had requested.
๐Ÿ’•
Alice is a very complex individual. She didnโ€™t have the best start in life – she lost her mother at the age of 4 and was unloved.
Not only is she very clever and manipulative but she also has a bit of narcissism in her. She leads a very lonely and quite sad life. Does not have many people in her life.
๐Ÿ’•
Cate has the very difficult task of unpicking Alice, uncover her many layer. What makes her tick. What is slowly unearths is far from pleasant.
๐Ÿ’•
The book takes you on a journey of the past & present through Alicesโ€™ eyes. This is vital as it gives the reader the background to Alice and whether her past has effected her present.
๐Ÿ’•
The writing is sublime and Ruth Dundalk has achieved something quite remarkable – a book thatโ€™s very dark yet heartbreaking at the same time and it works. It also brings the taboo subject of assisted dying to the forefront.
๐Ÿ’•
This books moved at such a speed. I was utterly gripped from the very first page right to the end.
๐Ÿ’•
An amazing book and must read. Your unable to predict how this story will end.

November Wrap Up

Gosh this year has only another month to go then we are into a new year and new decade.
๐Ÿ’•
November Iโ€™ve read a vast variety of books. Which I have throughly enjoyed. This month I final read โ€˜My Dark Vanessaโ€™ one to look out for in 2020.
.
Yet again my tbr has gone out the window ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿคญ. I start every month the same with all the good intentions of sticking to my tbr. But I decide what books I want to read depending on what mood Iโ€™m in. Is anyone else the same????
๐Ÿ’•
Iโ€™m not sure what December will bring in terms of reading. I have a couple of blog tours that Iโ€™m participate in which I cannot wait to share my thoughts with you all.
๐Ÿ’•
I also want to that the following publishers for gifting me amazing books.

About me

Hi All,

Welcome to Cen-sational Reads. Iโ€™m Cen and Iโ€™m a book lover through and through. I love literature and how it is so beautiful when itโ€™s written and words flow on the page.

Through Cen-sational Reads blog I hope to inspire people to read, discover new books, new authors, publishing houses. Anything and everything to do with books/ literature

How Cen-sational Reads started.

2 years ago I started my book journey through Instagram under the name Cenninโ€™s Book Reviews. It is where I share my book reviews, what books are up and coming. Books I love and others not so much.

I recently changed my Instagram handle to Cen- sational Teads (a real play on words) That I have now decided to spread my wings a little a launch my blog.

I would be thrilled if you would join me on my book adventure and share your books with me.

Hope to see you soon

Cen x
